It’s human to have days where you don’t feel quite up to par. Whether it’s feeling like you’re not smart enough, not pretty or hansom enough, or not successful enough — it’s a feeling that can make anyone feel inadequate. However, self-validation is key to your happiness. Many people look to the outside for validation, even basic things such as how many likes you get on a social media post, but self-validation is where your real power is and it’s wise to do a regular check-in, which I invite you to do TODAY.
Self-validation helps you to feel confident and be more emotionally resilient. It helps you to build a strong sense of self-worth and identity, and it can be a powerful tool for managing stress and negative self-talk, which makes you more likely to have positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Feelings of inadequacy don’t have to define you, unless you allow it. Instead of looking for what’s missing, focus on what you do have and what you have already achieved. Those things that you take for granted, someone else only dreams of having! Think about the relationships you have, the skills you possess, and the talents you have cultivated since you came into this world. Intentionally taking the time to recognize your strengths can help you to see that you have worth and value, simply because you are YOU.
Focus on the things that make you unique. We all have unique qualities and talents that make us special but in a fast-paced society it can be easy to forget to appreciate them. So, I ask that you take some time today to think about the good things in your life and focus on the fact that you have so much value to contribute. It comes from within, and no one can take it away from you, unless you allow it. Stand in your power today and be the best YOU!
